Introducing human-centric technologies such as holographic windshield displays, human-centric interior lighting, and M.Brain

Strengthening sales efforts for mass-produced new technologies including electrification, electronics, and lighting systems

Seoul, DEC.
12th, 2024 ? Beyond ‘High Tech’ lies ‘Human Tech.’ On the 12th, Hyundai Mobis (KRX: 012330) announced its participation in CES 2025, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas, USA, from January 7 to 10 next month. Hyundai Mobis has participated in CES for ten consecutive years since 2016, focusing on mobility innovation technologies and mass-produced new technologies.

At this CES, Hyundai Mobis plans to provide a unique user experience through ‘Human Tech,’ which engages and communicates with people under the theme ‘Beyond and More.’ Human Tech is a technology that breaks down the boundaries between people and technology, maximizing user safety and convenience through mutually organic connections.

Aligned with this key theme, Hyundai Mobis emphasized transparency in the design of its exhibition booth, symbolizing the removal of physical boundaries. Hyundai Mobis configured the booth’s outer walls and ceiling structures as transparent curtains, highlighting the seamless connection between people and technology and between the exhibition space and visitors.

  • First Public Unveiling of ‘Holographic Windshield Transparent Display’

At CES, Hyundai Mobis will introduce three human tech technologies: ▲ Holographic Windshield Display, ▲ Human Centric Interior Lighting System, and ▲ M.Brain, a brainwave-based driver distraction care system.

Firstly, Hyundai Mobis will unveil the ‘Holographic Windshield Display,’ co-developed with the global optics company ZEISS from Germany, to the general public for the first time. To emphasize the actual user experience, Hyundai Mobis will equip this display on Kia’s electric vehicle EV9 for its unveiling. This display features a panoramic projection of various driving information, navigation, and infotainment data across the vehicle’s front windshield, extending from the driver’s seat to the passenger’s seat. Installing a special optical film on the front windshield allows drivers to access diverse information while ensuring an open and spacious feel and enhanced driving safety through this innovative technology. As a next-generation display technology without any current mass production, Hyundai Mobis plans to begin actual mass production of the product as early as 2027.

Hyundai Mobis will also introduce the ‘Human Centric Interior Lighting’ technology, which changes like a chameleon according to the user’s mood and situation. This smart lighting system can implement 32 different situational patterns: ▲ Reduction of driver stress and motion sickness, ▲ Prevention of dismounting hazards, ▲ Avoidance of door dings (collisions when doors are opened), and ▲ UVC sterilization lighting. Visitors to the Hyundai Mobis exhibition hall will experience how this lighting technology responds to changes in the user’s biological rhythms, health, and the vehicle’s surrounding environment.

Hyundai Mobis’s flagship human tech technology, M.Brain, will also engage CES attendees. M.Brain is a system that analyzes the driver’s brainwave information to monitor inattentive states such as drowsy driving in real-time. If the driver’s attention wanes, it issues warnings through visual (LED warning lights around the driver’s seat), tactile (vibrating seats), and auditory (headrest speakers) means. Visitors to the Hyundai Mobis booth will be able to directly observe examples of brainwave analysis and the application of M.Brain technology.

  • Exhibition of 16 Strategic Products for Global Orders... Customized Sales Initiatives for Client Companies

At this CES, Hyundai Mobis plans to operate a ‘Private Zone’ to strengthen face-to-face networking with representatives from global client companies. In the Private Zone, Hyundai Mobis will exhibit 16 strategic products across areas such as electrification, electronics, chassis, and lighting systems to respond to global orders and will conduct customized sales activities tailored to each client company.

This year, Hyundai Mobis has continuously strengthened its customer-centric sales activities by participating in major global mobility events such as the Paris Motor Show and Auto China. At the ‘CEO Investor Day’ held on the 19th of last month, Hyundai Mobis President Lee Gyu-suk emphasized, “Based on our leading technological competitiveness, we aim to expand the proportion of sales from global automakers to 40% of our total core auto component sales by 2033, propelling us to become a global TOP 3 automotive supplier.”

Hyundai Mobis plans to utilize this CES to secure top global talent by inviting approximately 40 international students (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral candidates) from leading U.S. engineering schools such as MIT, Stanford, and Georgia Tech to the exhibition site. Hyundai Mobis intends to actively showcase the company’s future technological competitiveness to these international students, provide introductions to crucial company roles, and offer consultation opportunities, thereby continuously enhancing communication with top global talent.
